History of The William M. Tuck Airport
The William M. Tuck Airport located in Halifax County
represents an enduring cooperative effort among
county residents, the Halifax County Board of Supervisors,
and the William Tuck Airport Commission. Since initial
construction in the mid-1940's, community leaders
have dedicated time and effort toward maintaining
a viable, operative public airport. During the past
fifty-five years an abiding community interest and
various capital improvements have ensured the sustainability
of this small airport as well as provided for many
enhanced technological updates. Halifax County continues
to sustain its commitment to Tuck Airport as plans
evolve for improved services, new hangars, and extended
runways.
