By developing state-of-the-art hardware interfaces and software applications, as well as developing unique software solutions specific to certain environmental and energy specific industry targets, the Modeling and Simulation Center for Collaborative Technologies is able to arrive at practical solutions within an efficient timeframe. The Center's team of modeling, simulation, and statistical experts represent some of the most advanced technology scientists and engineers in the world to capable of solving complex problems for our target clients.
Customers have access to supercomputing capabilities, secure data storage, and geographic information system interface capabilities for pre-processing, a myriad of computational simulation capabilities, and three-dimensional (3-D) postprocessing visualization and animation. The core element of the organizational structure consists of Virginia Tech researchers and faculty, private industry partners, and other public support units working together in Riverstone with state-of-the-art modeling and simulation equipment that has a sophisticated output component to support human visualization and 'life like' 3-D interactive models and simulation for creative decision support services targeted for clients.
The Modeling and Simulation Center's assets include:
- Geospatial Lab
- 3D Decision Support
- Multimedia Studio Lab
- Computer Cluster and Computation Workstation Lab
