Riverstone Technology ParkHalifax County's Riverstone Technology Park (RTP) opened for business in 2004. Building One has office, lab, and technical manufacturing space available for lease and commons areas including conferencing space, an exercise facility and a corporate board room. The building is 67,000 square feet and is class “A” space for small information technology, technical manufacturing, and biomedical companies. Building Two is occupied by the Virginia Employment Commission/South Boston Customer Contact Center and Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Direct.

RTP is part of a long term plan to diversify the economy. It is a 165-acre park focused on IT, biotechnology, telecommunications, and technical manufacturing, and is designed to have 4 miles of trails and walkways that will eventually connect to Berry Hill and Downtown South Boston.

Halifax County has invested much in our technology future, as evidenced by Riverstone and the availability of fiber optics broadband; we are also in the process of developing a Modeling and Simulation Center at Riverstone Technology Park.
