TMI AutoTech, the exclusive manufacturer and distributor in the Americas for the Ariel Atom and Ariel Nomad continues to grow in Halifax County, Virginia. TMI has grown its business plan, product line, production capability, and its employment.
Since landing in Halifax, VA in 2008 it has grown from three people with plans to produce 20 cars (one model) a year, to 22 people making 70 cars (two models) a year. Outgrowing their original 20,000SF facility, TMI has also added machining of precision engineered components for other OEMs, and a composites molding line as part of their move to a larger 60,000SF space in Halifax County.
Their expansion will continue in land, labor and capital to allow them to produce over 200 automobiles (three models), as well as additional component manufacturing requiring up to 45 workers, and a possible addition to their current building. Mark Swain VP of TMI “Small town charm with global thinking are what drew us to Halifax County. The ability for us to actively work with all levels of economic development on a long term basis have allowed for projects to come to fruition much quicker as we grow our business with clients and vendors that are located all over the world.”
