Founder of Base-X new owner of Lindstrand USA

Bea Maurer, CEO, Lindstrand USABea Maurer, founder of Base-X, has purchased Lindstrand USA, becoming the majority shareholder, and making the Virginia-based company a woman-owned, small business, situated in South Boston, a HubZone area.

Founder Per Lindstrand and Angela Lewis remain minority shareholders and will work with Maurer to continue the mission of Lindstrand USA while expanding its capabilities.

Lindstrand USA manufactures state-of-the-art lighter-than-air vehicles and air cell inflatable structures.

“I am thrilled to be working with such an innovative and fast-growing company,” said Maurer. “I feel Lindstrand USA’s vision integrates closely with my own.”

Maurer founded Base-X, now a part of Hunter Defense Technologies, which makes rapid-deployable shelters for military applications.  Lindstrand USA is expanding its line of aerostats and airships to include a newly developed mooring station. The integration of a hybrid shelter, consisting of air cell and air beam technology, will bring a new breath of fresh air to the shelter industry.

Lindstrand USA will also be introducing commercial products to the marketplace with unique designs and capabilities.
